HYSTORICAL BACKGROUND
FGUP STANDARTINFORM
(FEDERAL STATE UNITARY ENTERPRISE -
RUSSIAN SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CENTRE FOR INFORMATION ON STANDARDIZATION, METROLOGY
AND CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT)
was established on February,
11, 2005 as the result of merger
between two organizations:
- former FGUP All-Russian Research Institute for Classification,
Terminology and
Information on Standardization and Quality (VNIIKI) founded in 1964, and
- former
FGUP Publishing and Printing Division of Russian State Committee on
Standardization (Standards Publisher of Federal Agency on Technical Regulation
and Metrology) founded in 1924.
FGUP STANDARTINFORM carries out its mission in various areas of standardization,
being
- the owner of exclusive publishing rights for standardization, metrology and conformance
documents approved by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology
(GOST R). Only documents registered and marked by GOST R authorized organizations have
legal
capacity on the territory of Russian Federation. In case of unauthorized or illegal
distributors the integrity of these standards can not be garanteed;
- the registrar for all Russian national standards documents,
including regulations and guidelines, all-Russian technical,
economic and social information classifiers;
- the leading organization maintaining the Federal Informational Collections
of Technical Regulations and Standards, including international and overseas standards
by mandate of GOST R. Unique authorized Russian resource for national and international standards;
- the coordinator of development and maintenance of Federal Information Sharing
System on Technical Regulation;
- the national enquiry point of WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers in Trade and
WTO Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (
);
- the current and authoritative Russian standards information resource for the
national, international and overseas standards needs in both print and electronic
form;
- the national information resource on ISO international network (ISONET);
- the national information Center on Standard Terminology;
- the leading scientific Center on Standard Reference Data for Physical Constants
and Substances and Materials Properties;
- the research and information Center on Substances and Materials Safety.
SERVICES
- provision of official print and electronic copies of technical regulations, national
standards of the Russian Federation, all-Russian classifiers for technical, economic
and social information, international (regional) and national standards of foreign
countries and their translations directly via STANDARTINFORM (
)
and regional sales chain;
- provision of bibliographic data for national standards of the Russian Federation
and international standards organizations (ISO, IEC, CodexAlimentarius, etc.),
standards of ISO-members (BSI, DIN, AFNOR, UNI, JIS, etc.): availability, validity,
replacement, withdrawal, revisions, Russian translations;
- scientific and technical expert examination of terminology and definitions in
drafts of standards and technical regulations using unique Russian terminology
database ROSTERM;
- translation of standards into Russian and publication of Russian editions of
international standards with confirmation of translations authenticity to the
original documents and their official registration to establish their legal validity;
- provision of reference data on substances and materials;
- information and consulting services on standardization in the public reading
room of STANDARTINFORM;
- online subscription services.
